Juco transfer saw time decline
SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah receiver Larry Miles, who didn't catch pass in the last two games, has quit the team.
Miles had three catches in the first two games for the Utes (3-1), including the first touchdown the team scored under coach Urban Meyer. But he lost his starting job to Travis LaTedresse and his role had been scaled back.
Meyer said Miles quit the team Tuesday and would not be coming back.
"He's done," Meyer said Thursday.
After transferring from Mesa (Calif.) Junior College, Miles played in nine games last season and had five catches for 73 yards. He caught a 12-yard pass from Brett Elliott for a touchdown in this year's season opener against Utah State.
