Falcons get bid after losing MAC title game
DETROIT -- Bowling Green accepted a bid to play in the Motor City Bowl after losing to No. 14 Miami (Ohio) on Thursday night in the Mid-American Conference championship game.
Bowling Green (10-3, 7-2 MAC) will play a Big Ten team, likely Northwestern, on Dec. 26 at Ford Field. It will be Bowling Green's first bowl appearance since the 1992 Las Vegas Bowl.
The Falcons advanced to the MAC championship game for the first time since the conference began matching up its division winners in a title game in 1997.
