Harris, Robinson replacement coaches
SAN FRANCISCO -- Pittsburgh coach Walt Harris and UNLV coach John Robinson will replace LSU's Nick Saban and Oklahoma's Bob Stoops as coaches in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 10.
Saban and Stoops were forced to withdraw from their commitments to coach in the All-Star game because their schools will play in the Nokia Sugar Bowl on Jan. 4 for the Bowl Championship Series title game.
Robinson led Southern California to the 1978 national championship and later coached the Los Angeles Rams for nine seasons. He has been at UNLV for five years.
Harris is 44-39 in seven seasons at Pittsburgh. The Panthers will play Virginia in the Continental Tire Bowl in Charlotte, N.C., on Dec. 27.
