Oklahoma State regents tack year onto contract
TULSA, Okla. -- Regents for Oklahoma State University have approved a one-year contract extension for Cowboys football coach Les Miles.
The contract keeps Miles at Oklahoma State through 2010 and includes options for two additional years. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Regents also approved athletic director Harry Birdwell's decision to name Sean Sutton as the replacement to his father, Eddie Sutton, as the Cowboys' head basketball coach when Eddie Sutton decides to retire. Sean Sutton will officially become head coach-designate July 1.
"I think we have scored real high in the minds of these coaches, particularly these young coaches like Sean and Les," Oklahoma State president David Schmidly said. "I think they feel real good about their sons and daughters growing up in Stillwater and going to school here."
