Report: Police also seek another teen
RICHMOND, Calif. -- Richmond police arrested a suspect in the shooting death of high school football star Terrance Kelly on Saturday.
The 18-year-old Kelly was gunned down in his car in Richmond late Thursday night -- less than two days before he was set to leave for college on an athletic scholarship.
Larry Pratcher, 18, was arrested Saturday morning after police searched the suspect's home. Richmond police still are investigating the motive behind the shooting.
The Contra Costa Times reported that police were seeking at least one other teenager not found during the 2:45 a.m. raid.
Kelly was a star linebacker and tight end for Concord's De La Salle High School, one of the nation's top high school football teams.
Kelly was scheduled to fly to Eugene, Ore., Saturday morning to start college at the University of Oregon. Family, friends, coaches and teammates have been devastated by news of Kelly's violent death.
Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
