Can't wait to see these things this fall
|
1. It's all about DeAngelo Williams and his shot at the Heisman. The Memphis senior has the numbers. The question is whether he has the offensive line. Only one starter returns. 2. The drought at UCF will end. The league isn't as tough as it was last year, and George O'Leary hasn't forgotten how to coach. The freshmen who played defense last year learned the hard way. The bet here is the Golden Knights begin to benefit from those lessons this season. 3. First J.P. Losman, then Lester Ricard. Tulane coach Chris Scelfo and his offensive coordinator/brother Frank have proved they have a knack for developing talented passers. |
1. DeAngelo Williams turning the corner for Memphis and outrunning the rest of the league. A classy kid who stayed in school for his senior season should merit Heisman Trophy consideration. 2. Jeff Bower pulling together another winning season at Southern Mississippi. He's not doing it with all-world talent, but it seems to happen every year. 3. Will anyone still pay attention to this league now that Louisville is gone? |
