Former BC kicker son of former Giants coach
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Mike Fassel, the son of former New York Giants coach Jim Fassel, has been named the new director of football operations at Princeton.
The younger Fassel replaces Nolan Jones, who took a similar position at Northwestern.
Mike Fassel will be responsible for the coordination of recruiting, as well as assisting in the organization and administration of day-to-day efforts for coach Roger Hughes.
Fassel graduated from Boston College in 2004 with a degree in marketing. The former Eagles walk-on earned a scholarship and a starting position as a kicker.
His football experience also includes five summers working with the New York Giants when his father served as head coach. The younger Fassel prepared practice and game equipment and assisted coaches during practices and drills.
Mike Fassel founded and owned TGB Digital Inc., a video production company based in Bergen County, N.J. He also had an internship with Credit Suisse First Boston, and served on the executive board of the Boston College Macintosh Users Group.
Jim Fassel is currently the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens.
