Green expected to be ready in August
BATON ROUGE, La. -- Skyler Green's ankle surgery late last month is not expected to delay his return to LSU's preseason practice in August, school officials say.
Green, a senior receiver and punt returner, had minor arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle, which he sprained in the 2004 preseason.
Green played in pain throughout last season after further aggravating the injury in the regular season opener against Oregon State.
LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette on Tuesday characterized the surgery as a routine procedure.
"It was nothing more than going in cleaning up some scar tissue that lingered from last year's injury," Bonnette said. "The recovery time is minimal. He'll be at 100 percent when the team reports for fall camp on Aug. 6."
