Gailey officially signs five-year, $5 million contract
ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech football coach Chan Gailey signed the $5 million, five-year contract that he agreed to in November.
"It's great to finally have this in place," Gailey said Thursday. "It was just a matter of getting all the paperwork done."
The new deal runs through 2010.
Gailey has a 28-22 record in four seasons at Georgia Tech, leading the school to four straight bowl appearances. The Yellow Jackets went 7-5 last season, including upsets at Auburn and Miami.
"Obviously, I'm very happy to be here," Gailey said. "When I came here, my expectation was to finish my career at Georgia Tech, and this is a big step in that direction."
