Southern California wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett has told coach Pete Carroll he wants to try to play on Saturday at Washington State, despite spraining his shoulder last week.

Jarrett injured his shoulder in the third quarter against Arizona, in the same game that he tied the Pac-10 record for touchdown catches. He is expected to miss 2-to-4 weeks, did not practice Monday and is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game in Pullman, Wash.

But the No. 3 Trojans could still see him in the lineup.

"He's talking about how he wants to get back [this week]," Carroll said.

Patrick Turner, a 6-foot-5 sophomore, is Jarrett's likely replacement if Jarrett can't go.

"We play the same position and we're both 6-foot-5, but you just have to make plays and that's what it comes down to," Turner said Monday.

Jarrett caught his 32nd career touchdown pass on Saturday, tying Stanford's Ken Margerum for the Pac-10 record.

Jarrett has 20 receptions for 207 yards and three touchdowns this season.
