Arizona State tight end Miller will enter draft
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State junior tight end Zach Miller on Tuesday said he would enter this year's NFL draft.
A second-team Associated Press All-America selection this season, Miller is the school's all-time leading receiver among tight ends. The Phoenix native led the Sun Devils in receptions (50), receiving yards (484) and touchdown catches (4).
Miller broke the ASU career tight end records set by Todd Heap, who also left for the NFL after his junior season. Heap was drafted by Baltimore in the first round of the 2001 draft.
Miller announced his intentions at a campus news conference. His departure is a blow to new head coach Dennis Erickson, hired last month to replace Dirk Koetter, who was fired.
Miller started all 35 games he played for Arizona State. His brother, Brent, is a redshirt junior tight end at ASU.
