ACC title game to stay in Jacksonville

2/6/2007 - College Football

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Atlantic Coast Conference will hold its championship game in Jacksonville, Fla., for the third straight season after the league extended its agreement with the city Tuesday.

"After discussions with our member schools, it was obvious that everyone has been delighted with Jacksonville's hospitality throughout the first two years, as well as the Gator Bowl Association's management of the game," ACC commissioner John Swofford said.

This year's game will be played Dec. 1 at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. Wake Forest won the ACC title this past season by beating Georgia Tech. Florida State won the inaugural ACC title game in 2005.
