UCF running back treated for dehydration following collapse
ORLANDO, Fla. -- A Central Florida football player is recovering after he collapsed during training and was hospitalized.
Brandon Davis, a freshman running back, became dehydrated while participating in a routine weightlifting session at the school Wednesday morning. School spokesman Leigh Torbin said Davis remained hospitalized for observation at Florida Hospital East on Thursday night.
Davis, who's from Suwannee, Ga., was in the running back rotation during UCF's 4-8 season.
The school's training methods have come under scrutiny since wide receiver Ereck Plancher collapsed and died during a conditioning workout last spring.
