Crimson Tide, Hokies to meet in College Kickoff
ATLANTA -- Alabama opened and closed the 2008 regular season playing in the Georgia Dome.
The Crimson Tide will be back in Atlanta to open the 2009 season when it plays ACC champion Virginia Tech in the Sept. 5 Chick-fil-A College Kickoff.
The game will be broadcast by ESPN or ABC.
Both schools will announce the game in a teleconference Friday, according to Chick-fil-A Bowl President Gary Stokan.
"I think both teams will be ranked in the top 10 to start the season," Stokan said. "We should have a soldout atmosphere in Atlanta."
The Crimson Tide upset then-No. 9 Clemson 34-10 in the inaugural event this season.
