Vols' VanDerzee follows Marrone
New Syracuse coach Doug Marrone has dipped back into the former Tennessee staff, hiring Kevin VanDerzee to be his director of football operations.
VanDerzee spent last season on the Vols' staff as the director of high school relations and came to Tennessee along with offensive coordinator Dave Clawson from Richmond.
Marrone had earlier hired former Tennessee offensive line coach Greg Adkins to be on his Syracuse staff. Marrone was the offensive line coach at Tennessee in 2001 before leaving for the NFL and the New Orleans Saints.
VanDerzee, who graduated from State University of New York at Cortland, was the director of football operations for two seasons at Richmond.
