USC quarterback Aaron Corp on Tuesday looked ready to play in the Trojans' opener Sept. 5.

Corp returned to practice and split time with freshman Matt Barkley running the No. 1 offense. Corp had not gone through a full practice since cracking his fibula Aug. 11.

"I can do everything right now that playing quarterback at USC [requires] me to do," Corp said after practice, according to the Los Angeles Times. "I feel good and it's only going to get better."

Corp, a junior, was No. 1 on the depth chart entering training camp.

Wearing a bulky brace, which he says restricts his movement somewhat, Corp was able to plant, drop back, shift -- everything he did before the injury.

After observing Corp in practice, USC coach Pete Carroll called the quarterback's comeback "remarkable."

Carroll said he does not have a time frame in mind for naming a No. 1 quarterback for the Trojans' season opener against San Jose State, but that the next three practices and Saturday's scrimmage at the Los Angeles Coliseum are crucial to making the selection.

"He'll get a chance all the way to Saturday to show where he sits," Carroll said of Corp. "That's a very important opportunity for him to show his stuff."
