DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kent State freshman quarterback Spencer Keith will start Saturday's home game against Iowa State in place of Giorgio Morgan, who is nursing a sprained left ankle.
Kent State spokesman Alan Ashby says Keith will get the nod over Morgan, who was 9-of-16 passing for just 38 yards in a 34-7 loss at Boston College last week.
Morgan sprained his ankle in a win over Coastal Carolina and appeared to aggravate the injury against the Eagles. Keith came in and threw for 71 yards and a touchdown against Boston College.
Keith threw for 5,310 yards and 70 touchdowns as a senior last season for Pulaski Academy in Arkansas, leading his team to a state title.
