South Florida quarterback Matt Grothe injured his left knee in the second quarter of his team's 59-0 win over Charleston Southern on Saturday, and his status for next week's game at Florida State is in doubt.
Grothe was injured while being tackled on a scramble and had to be helped off the field. He was using crutches on the sidelines in the second half.
Grothe has started 41 straight games and set the Big East's career yardage record last week at Western Kentucky. Redshirt freshman B.J.
Daniels would start in his place if Grothe can't play next week in Tallahassee.
