Louisville starting safety Terrence Simien is out indefinitely after suffering a lacerated kidney in the third quarter of Saturday's loss to Kentucky.

The junior college transfer has been hospitalized, and the team expects him to remain so for the next couple of days. Simien has 10 tackles and an interception in two games this season.

He'll be replaced in the starting lineup by either Richard Raglin or Daniel Covington. The Cardinals travel to Utah this Saturday.
