Freshman Tate Forcier will be Michigan's starting quarterback this week against Delaware State as long as he recovers from a mild concussion.

Wolverines head coach Rich Rodriguez said Monday that Forcier still had a headache from the concussion, sustained in Saturday's 30-28 loss to Iowa. Rodriguez wasn't aware of the concussion until after the game, and Forcier's health didn't factor into the decision to play Denard Robinson down the stretch against the Hawkeyes.

"Tate's got a little concussion -- I didn't know that at the time -- he got it on the last play he was in," Rodriguez said. "He got hit pretty good. Those concussions are day to day, and I don't think it was a severe one."

Rodriguez added that Forcier, who has started Michigan's first six games, likely needs to go through a full practice Wednesday to play against Delaware State.

Forcier has thrown for 988 yards with nine touchdowns and four interceptions to go along with 180 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Senior running back Carlos Brown, who missed the Iowa game with a concussion, is expected to return against Delaware State. Also, cornerback Boubacar Cissoko is practicing with Michigan's scout team during his suspension for violating unspecified team rules.

"Talking to our academic folks, he was doing things he's supposed to do there for the most part," Rodriguez said of Cissoko. "But it's a daily thing, so we'll see."
