Ingram, Gerhart lead All-Americans
The 2009 ESPN.com All-America Team features nine players from five teams within the Southeastern Conference. That's first among the leagues, six of which contributed at least two players. The WAC and Mountain West each sent two players, which matched the Big Ten and was two more than the Big East. The league may have an automatic berth in the BCS but there is no such thing on this team.
Alabama and Florida lead the teams with three players apiece. Two schools sent two players to the team. TCU, which finished the regular season undefeated, sent a pair. So did UCLA, which sent defensive tackle Brian Price and kicker Kai Forbath. As was the case for the Bruins all season, the offense is missing. The quarterback may not ring a bell. He isn't one of the household names who became a Heisman finalist. He just never stopped moving the ball downfield.
