Former Texas wide receiver Dan Buckner has enrolled at Arizona for the spring semester and plans to join Mike Stoops' team after sitting out a redshirt season.

Buckner transferred from the Texas program last week less than 24 hours after he was arrested in College Station, Texas, on charges of criminal trespassing and resisting arrest. He was released from jail after posting bonds totaling $8,000 shortly after that incident.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound sophomore from Allen, Texas, appeared in all 14 games for the Longhorns in 2009, including six starts. He produced 45 catches for 442 yards and four touchdown grabs to rank as Texas' third-leading receiver.

But 29 of those catches came in the first five games of the season as Buckner saw his playing time limited later in the Longhorns' 13-1 season. He had one catch for minus-3 yards in Texas' national championship game loss against Alabama and only seven catches over the final four games of the season as his flex end position was gradually phased out of the Longhorns' attack by offensive coordinator Greg Davis.

Buckner will sit out the 2010 season at Arizona, but will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Wildcats beginning in 2011.
