PHILADELPHIA -- Temple coach Al Golden has agreed to a five-year contract with the Owls that would keep him with the program through the 2014 season.
Financial terms of the extension were not disclosed Wednesday.
Golden led the Owls to a 9-4 record and an appearance in the EagleBank Bowl last season, generating plenty of interest from high-profile programs looking for a coach. The Owls had their first winning record since 1990 and played in their first bowl game in 30 years.
Golden will be entering his fifth season with the Owls.
