FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Colorado State is honoring former tight end and Colorado Rockies President Keli McGregor with a memorial scholarship and an award.

McGregor died unexpectedly April 20.

Colorado State says the first Keli S. McGregor Memorial Football Scholarship to a walk-on player will be awarded May 22. The school also is creating the Keli McGregor Award for student-athletes who best represent traits McGregor exhibited, including integrity and leadership.

McGregor was a walk-on at Colorado State and was later drafted by the Denver Broncos.

Colorado State is holding Keli McGregor Day at its home football game Sept. 25 against Idaho, and football players' helmets will have decals with his number, 88, this season.
