Baylor dismisses WR Willie Jefferson
Baylor wide receiver Willie Jefferson has been dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules.
Jefferson was arrested along with fellow receiver Josh Gordon on Oct. 3 after police found the two passed out in the drive-thru of a Taco Bell near the Baylor campus. Both were charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession after police found marijuana in the car.
Baylor coach Art Briles has declined comment on the matter, and the school did not explicitly say whether the arrest was related to the dismissal. No update on Gordon's status with the team has been offered.
Police reported that Jefferson was driving the car and Gordon was in the passenger seat.
Jefferson was not listed on the participation report of Saturday's loss to Texas Tech.
Gordon played, catching five passes for 96 yards and a touchdown.
