Deunta Williams undergoes leg surgery
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- North Carolina safety Deunta Williams has had surgery to repair his broken right leg.
The school said Thursday that Williams had his right fibula surgically repaired Wednesday at UNC Hospitals.
Williams broke his leg in the first half of the Tar Heels' Music City Bowl victory over Tennessee. He was hurt with 5:32 left in the first quarter as he helped tackle tight end Luke Stocker at the end of an 8-yard reception.
He finished his senior season with 49 tackles and three pass breakups.
