'I' teams converge on Bottom 10

There haven't been many good nights for the Bottom 10 this season, but there have been plenty of black eyes to go around.

And it certainly wasn't a good weekend for FBS teams that have names beginning with the letter "I."

Indiana gave up 83 points to Wisconsin. Idaho lost to Boise State by 38. Illinois lost to Minnesota, which had lost nine games in a row. Iowa State lost to Colorado, which hadn't won a Big 12 game this season. And Iowa lost to Northwestern on a last-minute touchdown pass.

There might not be an "I" in team, but there's plenty of "I" in the Bottom 10 this week.

Surprisingly, you won't find Bottom 10 staples Washington State or Western Kentucky on the list. We give credit when credit is due, and the Cougars and Hilltoppers earned their one-week reprieves. Western Kentucky defeated Arkansas State 36-35 in overtime, scoring the winning points on Derrius Brooks' two-point conversion run on the game's final play. It was the Hilltoppers' second victory in their past four games, after they lost 26 in a row.

The Cougars routed Oregon State 31-14 on the road, ending a 16-game losing streak against Pac-10 foes and beating an FBS opponent for the first time this season.

It was a good, good night, even in Pullman, Wash.

With apologies to and Steve Harvey, here's this week's Bottom 10:'s Bottom 10
1. Akron 0-10 "Let's Get It Started": The Zips have to feel like their season never started, as they're still searching for their first victory going into Wednesday night's game against Miami (Ohio).
2. Eastern Michigan 1-9 "Don't Lie": You probably forgot the Eagles were still playing football, too. We did last week, accidentally leaving them out of the Bottom 10.
3. Memphis 1-9 "Mas Que Nada": After losing seven games in a row, the Tigers probably want to scream, "No mas!" They'll play two more games, against UAB and Central Florida.
4. New Mexico 1-9 "I Gotta Feeling": I gotta feeling the Lobos are going to finish 1-11, with games left to be played against surging BYU and No. 3 TCU.
5. "I" 18-23 "Imma Be": Imma be really surprised if Idaho, Illinois, Indiana or Iowa State plays in a bowl game.
6. San Jose State 1-9 "The Time": The clock was cruel to the Spartans last week, as they surrendered the winning touchdown with 34 seconds left and then threw an interception in the end zone in a 38-34 loss to Utah State.
7. New Mexico State 2-8 "Meet Me Halfway": No. 18 Nevada will probably get at least halfway to 100 points in Saturday's game against the Aggies.
8. Buffalo 2-8 "Boom Boom Pow": You probably won't hear many sounds like that when the Bulls host Eastern Michigan in this week's Pillow Fight of the Week.
9. Louisiana-Lafayette 2-8 "Don't Phunk With My Heart": The not-so-Ragin' Cajuns toyed with their fans' hearts again, failing to convert a two-point conversion pass with 1:45 left in a 24-23 loss at Florida Atlantic.
10. Wyoming 2-9 "My Humps": The Cowboys' humps were more like the Rockies this season, with losses against Texas, Boise State, TCU and Utah.
