A season to remember won't soon be forgotten. The craziness started with Appalachian State's stunner in Ann Arbor and ended with LSU hoisting the national title in New Orleans.

In the final Power 16 of the season, the champion Tigers earned 14 first-place votes, while USC picked up the other two.

Georgia, West Virginia and Missouri round out the top five.

And with that, another season has come and gone. Let's do it again in the fall.

4West Virginia11-2194Bill Stewart was the only interim coach to win a bowl game. The interim tag was lifted soon after, and now Stewart has the tough task of building on what Rich Rodriguez started in Morgantown.
5Missouri12-2185The Tigers have appealed to the NCAA to give Tony Temple another year of eligibility. But if the Cotton Bowl ends up being the senior's last game, he went out in style (281 rushing yards, four TDs).
6Ohio State11-2179The Buckeyes began the new year with another blowout loss in the BCS title game. Don't be surprised to see the Bucks back in 2009. And this time, they just might win it.
7Oklahoma11-3161Has "Big Game Bob" lost his touch? Have the Sooners really lost four straight BCS bowl games? After West Virginia routed OU, Stoops said it was embarrassing and a reflection on him. Ouch.
8Kansas12-1158Big props to Kansas, which set a school record for wins (12) and earned its first BCS bowl win. Now the question is, can the Jayhawks compete with the Big 12's big boys on a consistent basis?
9Virginia Tech11-3119Another successful regular season didn't translate in the postseason as the Hokies lost their fourth bowl game in five years. Replacing the guys on D will be a key for 2008.
10Texas10-3108Losing Jamaal Charles to the NFL hurts, but the Horns have been there and done that. QB Colt McCoy will return as a junior next fall, but can he reduce the INTs (18) and increase the TDs (22)?
11Boston College11-385Quick ... which team owns the nation's longest bowl win streak? If you answered BC, you're right. The Eagles have won eight straight bowl games, becoming the first BC team to win 11 games since 1940.
12Tennessee10-462The season started out rough and the heat was rising on Phil Fulmer. But the Vols finished with a flourish, winning nine of their last 11, including the bowl game, to quiet their critics ... for now.
13Auburn9-444Soon-to-be sophomore Kodi Burns looks like he'll take the reins at QB for Brandon Cox, who in his three seasons as a starter, never lost to Alabama and won two of three bowl games.
14Florida9-439Tim Tebow's season is worth mentioning one more time: 3,286 passing yards, 32 passing TDs, 895 rushing yards, 23 rushing TDs. Can Tebow or teammate Percy Harvin make it two straight Gators Heisman winners?
15Michigan9-438The Lloyd Carr era is over, and Rich Rodriguez will soon begin to put his stamp on the Wolverines with the spread offense. One of his top priorities: Find a QB to fit his system.
16Brigham Young11-237From 2002 to 2005, the Cougars struggled to a 20-27 mark. But the past two seasons have produced two straight 11-win teams, including two bowl victories. It's a good time to be a BYU fan.
