CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- No. 25 North Carolina State tries to beat rival North Carolina for a fourth time in five meetings when they match up on Saturday in an Atlantic Coast Conference encounter.

The Wolfpack (3-1, 2-0 ACC) have won back-to-back meetings with the Tar Heels (2-3, 1-2) and three of four after a seven-game skid in the series.

The Tar Heels lead the all time series, 60-27-6, last winning in 2001, 17-9.

North Carolina State has won consecutive ACC contests in the last minute, 17-16 at Virginia Tech on September 25 and 27-21 in overtime over Wake Forest last week.

T.A. McLendon, who ran 30 times for 139 yards and two touchdowns against the Demon Deacons, scored on a nine-yard run after Wake Forest began the extra period by missing a 35-yard field goal.

N.C. State is 11-2 under coach Chuck Amato against intrastate ACC opponents Duke, Wake Forest and the Tar Heels.

The Tar Heels have dropped back-to-back games to Louisville and Florida State by a combined 72-16, including a 38-16 road setback to the Seminoles last week.

North Carolina gained 363 total yards - its best offensive output in 16 all-time meetings with Florida State - but managed just one touchdown, an eight-yard pass from Darian Durant to Jarwarski Pollock early in the third quarter.
