SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- Set the alarm clocks early
for this one.
With a starting time of 9:00 a.m. on the West Coast, 13th-ranked
Boise State and San Jose State clash in a Western Athletic
Hoping for additional exposure on the East Coast, San Jose State
officials agreed to move up the original starting time of 9
p.m. local time. It will be televised on ESPN2.
The Spartans (2-6, 1-4 WAC) can only hope that Boise State
misses its wake-up call as the Broncos' school-record 19-game
winning streak - one more than Southern California - is the
longest in Division I-A. Boise State also has won 23 straight
WAC games, including 11 in a row on the road.
Last season, Boise State routed San Jose State, 77-14, setting a
school record for points.
The Broncos (8-0, 5-0) have been off since crushing Hawaii,
69-3, on October 29. Boise State rushed for 425 yards - the
fourth-best total in school history - and posted its second-most
lopsided win, topped only by a 74-0 victory over Humboldt State
Quarterback Jared Zabransky ran for 123 yards on just 10 carries
and tied a school record by rushing for four touchdowns. He set
another school mark with the longest run from scrimmage (85
San Jose State (2-6, 1-4) has dropped four in a row, including a
42-24 setback to Nevada last week.
