BLACKSBURG, Virginia (Ticker) -- No. 11 Virginia Tech looks to remain atop the Atlantic Coast Conference on Saturday when it hosts 16th-ranked Virginia.

Virginia Tech (8-2, 5-1) is the lone ACC team with only one conference loss and a victory over the Cavaliers will set up a winner-take-all showdown at Miami next week. The Hurricanes, who are 5-2 in the ACC, are off this week.

A win by Virginia would complicate matters as it would leave four teams with two losses in the ACC. Florida State completed conference play at 6-2.

The Hokies have won three games by less than a touchdown this season, but did not have to sweat in their last outing, rolling over Maryland, 55-6, last Thursday.

Bryan Randall passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as Virginia Tech posted its sixth straight victory. However, the Hokies lost running back Mike Imoh, who left with a strained left hamstring after rushing for two touchdowns in the first four minutes. Even without Imoh, the Hokies rushed for 239 yards.

The victory gave Virginia Tech its seventh straight season with eight or more victories.

Virginia (8-2, 5-2) rebounded from a disappointing loss to Miami and kept alive its slim BCS hopes with a 30-10 win over Georgia Tech last week.

Alvin Pearman scored a pair of touchdowns for the Cavaliers, who forced four turnovers, including two interceptions in the end zone by Marcus Hamilton. Virginia has turned the ball over only eight times this season to rank fifth nationally.

Virginia Tech, which leads the ACC in scoring and defense, has won seven of the last 11 meetings against Virginia to open a 43-37-5 lead in the all-time series. Hokies coach Frank Beamer is 8-9 against the Cavaliers.
