TCU tries to remain perfect all-time against Army

Army (0-5) at No. 25 Tcu (5-1), 7:00 pm EDT

FORT WORTH, Texas (Ticker) -- TCU hopes for an easier game against Army this year.

The 25th-ranked Horned Frogs try to improve to 5-0 all-time against the Black Knights when the former Conference USA rivals meet in a non-conference matchup Saturday at Amon Carter Stadium.

Last year, Army jumped out to a 17-0 first-quarter lead at West Point before TCU scored 21 unanswered points for its fourth victory in as many meetings in the series.

TCU improved to 4-0 in Mountain West Conference play with a 28-14 triumph at Wyoming last week.

The Horned Frogs forced seven turnovers, including four in the first half as they built a 28-7 lead. Safety Brian Bonner's interception on Wyoming's opener series led to a one-yard touchdown run by Robert Merrill that gave TCU the lead for good.

Army (0-5), which is playing as an independent, suffered its 10th straight defeat with a 14-10 home loss to Central Michigan last week.

Scott Wesley ran for a career-high 150 yards and a touchdown for the Black Knights, who held a 10-7 lead before Chippewas quarterback Kent Smith picked up a dropped snap and scored on a two-yard run with 6:54 left.
