LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Kurt Nantkes threw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes to Greg Estandia within 30 seconds of each other to rally UNLV to a 28-18 win Friday night over Toledo in the opener for both teams.

With 5:52 left, Nantkes found Estandia on fourth-and-seven to give the Rebels a 21-18 lead. After the Rockets fumbled on their next play from scrimmage, the pair hooked up again.

Nantkes found the tight end down the right sideline for a 22-yard completion to seal the win for UNLV.

Nantkes finished 27-of-41 for 308 yards, with three touchdowns and an interception. Estandia caught four passes for 75 yards.

The Rockets opened the scoring on the game's first drive when Bruce Gradkowski found tight end Andrew Clarke for a 12-yard touchdown pass. It was the first of two touchdowns for the pair.

In the third quarter, Toledo took an 18-14 lead after Paul Dye returned a fumble 80 yards for a score.
