NEWARK, Del. (AP) -- Andy Hall threw for three touchdowns, including a 38-yard pass to Justin Long, as Delaware beat Richmond 44-14 on Saturday night.
Hall, who finished 18-for-25 for 196 yards, connected with Long to put the Blue Hens (2-0, 1-0 Colonial Athletic Association) ahead 17-7 with 12:16 left in the second quarter. Long had five receptions for 78 yards.
Hall also threw touchdown passes to Brian Ingram for 11 yards in the second quarter and Sean Bleiler for 3 yards in the third quarter. The pass to Ingram gave the Blue Hens a 24-14 lead at halftime.
Richmond (0-1, 0-1) was led by Bryson Spinner, who completed 16-of-34 passes for 196 yards. He threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Stacy Tutt, who had seven carries for 101 yards.
The Spiders' other score was on a 2-yard run by David Edward. The team had three fumbles and one interception as Richmond gained just 108 yards on the ground.
Delaware's Germaine Bennett had 26 carries for 121 yards and three touchdowns. His 3-yard run in the first quarter gave the Blue Hens a 10-0 lead.
The Blue Hens had 25 first downs and 450 total yards.
