MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Keldrick Williams scored three
touchdowns to lead Alabama State to a 49-28 win over Alcorn State
With the Hornets down 14-7 entering the second half, Williams
tied the game 14-14 with a 2-yard run less than three minutes into
the third quarter.
Williams also put the game's first points on the board less than
a minute into play, rushing six yards into the end zone to give
Alabama State (2-1, 1-0 SWAC) a TD.
Corvin Johnson led Alcorn State (1-2, 1-1), catching touchdown
passes in the fourth and first quarters.
With 10:40 to go in the second quarter, Donald Carrie found
Johnson on a 48-yard touchdown pass that tied the score 7-7.
Carrie also hitJohnson on a 25-yard TD pass with 7:47 left in
the game. But by then it was too late: The touchdown made it 42-28,
The Hornets outrushed Alcorn State 226-126.
