TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- James Kilian threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns to lead Tulsa to a 54-7 victory over Arkansas State on Saturday.

Kilian also ran for 51 yards as the Golden Hurricane defense forced four turnovers and shut down the Indians' ground game. Tulsa (2-2) held Arkansas State (2-2) to 45 rushing yards in building a 24-0 halftime lead.

Early in the second half, Tulsa's Uril Parrish returned the kickoff 98 yards, setting up a 2-yard run by Eric Richardson. Kilian hit Romby Bryant on a 37-yard scoring strike to make it 37-0.

The Golden Hurricane dominated from the start. After penalties killed a promising first drive, the Golden Hurricane settled for a 32-yard field goal by Devault.

Tulsa increased its lead to 10-0 on a 54-yard pass from Kilian to Montiese Culton. Jermaine Landrum returned a punt 41 yards for a score and freshman linebacker Nick Bunting intercepted a deflected pass and returned it 12 yards for another touchdown.

Arkansas State did not cross midfield until Les Echols intercepted a pass at the TU 49 with 1:11 left in the half.

The Indians finished with 271 yards total offense to 404 for TU. Jacobs completed just 5 of 21 passes for 50 yards with two interceptions.
