PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) -- Virginia Tech (No. 4 ESPN/USA Today, No. 4 Associated Press) gave Rutgers one last Big East beating with an offensive show that even had coach Frank Beamer wondering how good his team can be.

Marcus Vick is a big reason why Virginia Tech is favored to win the ACC.
Bryan Randall threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns and Hokies beat Rutgers for the 11th straight time, 48-22 Saturday.
"Sometimes we do things as good as we have ever done them at Virginia Tech," Beamer said after the final conference game between the schools.
"At other times I scratch my head a little bit," Beamer added. "The good part is if you can do it one time, you can do it every time."
Virginia Tech (5-0, 1-0) should find out how good it is over the next month, when it faces Syracuse, West Virginia, Miami and Pittsburgh. All four schools beat the Hokies last season.
Randall made sure Rutgers never came close to beating Virginia Tech for the first time since 1992 by throwing scoring passes of 28 and 45 yards to Chris Shreve and two 10-yarders to Mike Imoh.
Kevin Jones scored on a 5-yard run, safety Jimmy Williams tallied on a 55-yard interception return and Cedric Humes had a 35-yard touchdown run.
The Hokies will join the ACC next season.
Rutgers (3-2, 0-1) probably isn't going to miss playing them after being outscored 182-36 in the last four games.
"They've got playmakers on that team," linebacker William Beckford said after the Scarlet Knights lost their 23rd straight game in the conference. "This is a learning experience for us. We can't lower our heads and just say they beat us. That's a great team and we have to learn from it."
Rutgers came into this game looking for its first 4-1 start since 1991, and to show critics it was ready to take a step toward its first winning season since 1992.
"I'm disappointed the way we started the game," said Rutgers coach Greg Schiano, who is now winless in 15 conference games. "But I was encouraged the way we battled back. They never quit."
A 17-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Hart to Shawn Tucker after an early Hokies' turnover gave the Scarlet Knights a 7-0 lead just 2:12 after the opening kickoff. It marked the first time the Hokies trailed this season.
Randall, who was 16-for-22, wiped out whatever momentum the Scarlet Knights got by leading Virginia Tech on scoring drives of 81, 53, 63 and 58 yards on its next four possessions.
"It was important that we got in there and got started and put some points on the board," Randall said. "It got things even again and even out the momentum."
Randall capped the first two drives with passes to a wide open Shreve, a senior who had four catches for 93 yards in his first start. Jones, who rushed for 118 yards, extended the lead to 21-7 late in the first quarter with a walk-in score around the left side.
Imoh gave the Hokies their fourth touchdown in a span of 11:29 when he scored on a swing pass for a 28-7 lead early in the second quarter.
"We were able to open it up early," Randall said. "Things went well with the passing game early on. I was seeing my reads and things were just clicking. As the game went on, there was no reason to go away from it."
Williams' interception return 16 seconds before halftime stretched the lead to 34-7. Imoh capped a 79-yard drive to open the second half with his second score.
The Hokies had four interceptions against Hart, who was 16-for-33 for 182 yards.
Rutgers made the score a little more respectable scoring twice in an 18-second span early in the fourth quarter after intercepting passes by Marcus Vick, the brother of injured Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick.
Justise Hairston scored on a 21-yard run after the first interception and safety Jarvis Johnson returned the second one 47 yards for a touchdown.
Humes added a late touchdown.
"We're a good football team and we will games this year," said Rutgers halfback Brian Leonard, who ran for a team-high 76 yards and caught a 2-point conversion. "We'll put this game behind us and get ready for West Virginia."
