STEPHENVILLE, Texas (AP) -- Wilson Pirtle's 3-yard touchdown run
with 20 seconds remaining to give East Central a 21-17
come-from-behind victory over Tarleton State on Saturday night.
East Central (4-1, 2-0 Lone Star) trailed 17-14 with 2:52 left
after Tarleton's Paul Williams hit a 17-yard field goal.
Then Pirtle led led East Central on the winning drive. He
finished 17-of-34 for 183 yards and had 28 yards rushing.
Tarleton (3-3, 0-2) got a touchdown from Derrick Ross, who had
25 carries for 110 yards. David Durell was 17-of-29 for 115 yards
but was intercepted twice. He added a score on a 6-yard run in the
East Central was scoreless until King Bennett's 1-yard touchdown
run late in the third quarter. Landon Pratt returned a fumble 39
yards for a TD to tie the score with 11:42 remaining.
