EL PASO, Texas (Ticker) -- Luke McCown pased for 328 yards and
two touchdowns as Louisiana Tech rallied to defeat Western
Athletic Conference rival Texas-El Paso, 38-35.

Ryan Moats ran for 118 yards and two touchdowns and D.J. Curry
had seven catches for 113 yards and a pair of scores for the
Bulldogs (3-3, 1-2 WAC), who rallied from a 15-point deficit
late in the second quarter.

Louisiana Tech took the lead for good, 35-28, when McCown, who
went 22-of-40 without an interception, tossed a 48-yard TD pass
to Curry with 32 seconds left in the third quarter. Josh Scobee
made it 38-28 with a 44-yard field goal with 9:39 to play
before UTEP capped the scoring on a three-yard run by
quarterback Orlando Cruz with 33 seconds left.

Cruz completed 18-of-33 passes for 285 yards and two
interceptions but rushed for three touchdowns for the Miners
(2-5, 1-1), who had won their previous two contests.

Howard Jackson had 14 carries for 141 yards and two touchdowns
for UTEP, including a 70-yard score that gave the Miners a 21-7
lead with 1:28 left in the first quarter.

UTEP took its biggest lead, 28-13, on a five-yard run by Cruz
with 1:09 left in the first half. But Moats scored on a
one-yard run 46 seconds later to give the Bulldogs momentum
heading into the break, then tied the contest with a 35-yard run
5:41 later.
