EL PASO, Texas (Ticker) -- Quarterback James Kilian ran for
three touchdowns and passed for two more as Tulsa routed Western
Athletic Conference foe Texas-El Paso, 56-28.

Kilian rushed for 147 yards on 14 carries and completed 15-of-22
passes for another 219 with an interception.

Brandon Diles chipped in 82 yards and a score on the ground and
Eric Richardson added 73 yards and a TD for Tulsa (5-4, 3-2),
which rushed for 321 yards.

Jordan Palmer completed 26-of-43 passes for 287 yards and two
TDs for UTEP (2-7, 1-3) but also threw three interceptions as
the Miners lost their third consecutive game.

Palmer gave UTEP a 7-0 lead when he connected with running back
Howard Jackson on a 38-yard TD pass with 3:32 into the contest.
Jackson rushed 19 times for 128 yards and a score.

Richardson's five-yard TD run and Romby Bryant's 54-yard TD
reception staked Tulsa to a 14-7 lead with 5:55 left in the
second quarter.

UTEP's Josh Chamois returned a blocked punt for a touchdown and
Palmer tossed a 15-yard TD pass to Jimmy Smith to tie the
contest, 21-21, with 8:03 left in the third.

But Corey Blankenship scored on a 1-yard run and caught a
32-yard TD reception to give Tulsa a 35-21 lead with 4:44 left
in the quarter, and it cruised thereafter.
