PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Nick Hartigan scored the game-winning
touchdown with 31 seconds left asBrown rallied to beat Dartmouth
26-21 on Saturday.
Hartigan's one-yard plunge capped a 95-yard drive asBrown (4-5,
3-3 Ivy) won its sixth consecutive game against Dartmouth (4-5,
Hartigan gained 194 yards on 38 carries to set the Bears'
single-season school record with 1,297 yards, passing Mike Malan's
total of 1,213 set in 2000.
Dartmouth led 21-14 when Hartigan dashed 25 yards up the middle
for a touchdown to bringBrown within 21-20 with 6:50 left, but
Nick Marietti's extra-point kick hit the right upright.
Kyle Slager keyed the winning drive by completing passes of 26
yards to Jordan Pryor, 18 yards to Jarret Schreck and 11 yards to
Hartigan's 1-yard run gave him a league-leading 12 touchdowns,
and Slager completed 27 of 53 passes for 336 yards.
The Big Green led 14-6 lead at intermission, butBrown tied the
game 14-14 on the first play of the fourth quarter when Slager ran
four yards around left end and then threw a two-point conversion
pass to Lonnie Hill. Dartmouth retook the lead on another 25-yard
touchdown pass from Rittgers to Cramer, who finished with 10
catches for 137 yards.
