MURRAY, Ky. (AP) -- Charles Anthony rushed for 194 yards and a
touchdown as Tennessee State defeated Murray State 35-10 Saturday.
C.J. Johnson had three catches for 96 yards and two touchdowns
for the Tigers (7-5, 5-3 Ohio Valley Conference).
Stephen Hatchell passed for 181 yards, including Murray State's
only touchdown, for the Racers (4-8, 3-5 OVC).
Tennessee State's Ronald Jackson caught a 22-yard touchdown pass
with 10:47 left in the final quarter to give the Tigers their
largest lead of the game. With 34 seconds left in the third period,
Gerald Morrow recovered a Murray State fumble on a punt, setting up
the Tiger offense on the 17-yard line. On the next play, Johnson
caught a 22-yard pass for his second touchdown reception of the
game, putting Tennessee State up 28-10.
The Tigers' defense held Murray State to 227 yards on 75 plays.
Brandon Roddy caught a 16-yard touchdown pass for the Racers
with 2:25 remaining in the third quarter to make the score 21-10.
