DOVER, Del. (AP) -- Jamar Smith ran for 125 yards and a touchdown
to lead Howard to a 21-6 win over Delaware State on Saturday.
Mike Sanders had a 25-yard fumble recovery to score the Bison's
first touchdown at 14:44 in the second quarter.
With 6:36 left in the third quarter, Smith's 3-yard run gave
Howard (4-7, 2-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) a 13-0 lead. The
score was setup by a Delaware State fumble on its 3-yard line.
Fred Turner had a 48-yard interception return with 12:02 left in
the game to give the Bison a 21-0 lead. Antoine Hartfield, who
completed seven pass for 45 yards, connected with Shaun Miller for
a two-point conversion.
Delaware State (1-10, 1-6) was led by Andre Smith, who completed
8-of-22 passes for 111 yards and one touchdown.
The Hornets scored their only touchdown on a 52-yard pass from
Smith to Deon Rheubottom with 11:34 left.
