LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) -- Eugene Goodman scored on an 8-yard run in overtime to give Liberty a 49-42 victory over Hofstra on Saturday.

Goodman carried 40 times for 212 yards and three touchdowns for Liberty (6-6).

Bobby Seck completed touchdown passes of 16 and 59 yards to Marques Colston in the fourth quarter for Hofstra (2-10). After Colston's second TD reception with 1:12 left, Seck passed to Isaac Irby for a two-point conversion to send the game into overtime.

Liberty got the ball first in overtime and needed only three plays, all runs by Goodman, to score.

A holding penalty forced Hofstra into a first-and-20 situation from its 25 on its overtime possession. Two short passes moved Hofstra to the 10, but Seck's fourth-down pass over the middle fell incomplete.

With 7:51 left in the third quarter, Goodman put Liberty on top 28-21 with an 8-yard touchdown run. He increased the Flames' lead to 42-27 on a 1-yard scoring run with 6:57 remaining in the fourth quarter before Hofstra rallied.

Dre Barnes rushed 16 times for 100 yards, and his touchdown less than a minute into the game put the Flames ahead 6-0. Barnes finished the season with 1,346 yards, breaking his own school record.

Seck finished with 496 yards and four touchdowns on 24-of-47 passing. Colston scored on a 91-yard pass from Seck with 1:59 left in the first quarter.
