NEWARK, Del. (AP) -- Sonny Riccio threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another as Delaware beat West Chester 24-6 on Saturday.

Riccio hit 20 of 31 passes for a career-high 217 yards and threw touchdown passes to Justin LaForgia and Justin Long. He also ran for a one-yard score to spark the Blue Hens (2-1) to their second straight win.

The Hens, the defending NCAA I-AA national champions, have now defeated NCAA Division II West Chester (2-2) 11 straight times and 14 times in the last 15 meetings.

West Chester, which was coming off a 62-3 win over Glenville State last week, couldn't overcome three turnovers and just 222 total yards of offense.

Bob Findora hit on 16 of 29 passes for 153 yards for West Chester but was intercepted twice. Brent Steinmetz led the Ram running attack with 43 yards.

Delaware had 431 total yards, including 214 on the ground and 217 through the air.

The Blue Hen defense was led by Mondoe Davis' four tackles and one interception. The Hens held West Chester to 15 first downs.
