LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) -- Mark Borda completed 20 of 27 passes for
156 yards and two touchdowns Saturday night to lead Lehigh to a
34-16 victory over Liberty.
Borda connected on scoring passes of 13 yards to Adam Kovacs and
3 yards to Adam Bergen in the fourth quarter. Kevin Zebluim and
Eric Rath each ran for a touchdown for Lehigh (2-1), and Kaloma
Cardwell scored on a 31-yard interception return.
Lehigh entered the game ranked fifth nationally in Division I-AA
in run defense, giving up an average of 44.5 yards per game, but
Liberty (1-2) gained 170 yards on the ground. Eugene Goodman led
the Flames with 142 yards on 26 carries, including a 1-yard
Rath had 144 yards on 23 carries for Lehigh, which had 207 yards
It was the first game ever between the two teams.
