DENTON, Texas (AP) -- Jamario Thomas ran for 179 yards and two touchdowns as North Texas extended its Sun Belt winning streak to 19 games with a 30-21 victory over Middle Tennessee State on Saturday night.

Middle Tennessee (1-3, 0-2) rallied late, but North Texas cornerback TJ Covington intercepted Clint Marks in the end zone with 49 seconds left.

Middle Tennessee pulled within 24-21 late in the third quarter on a 7-yard scoring toss from Marks to Kerry Wright.

But UNT's Nick Bazaldua kicked two fourth quarter field goals including an 18-yarder with 4:12 left to help the Mean Green secure the win.
