HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) -- Maurice Fenner ran for 148 yards and three short touchdowns and quarterback Justin Rascati was close to perfect Saturday night as James Madison slowed Hofstra's high-powered offense and beat the Pride 31-21.

Fenner carried 24 times and scored on runs on 4, 3 and 2 yards for James Madison (3-1, 2-0 Atlantic 10), and Rascati was 19-for-22 for 188 yards with a touchdown pass and no interceptions. The Dukes also got 118 yards on the ground from Alvin Banks.

Hofstra (2-2, 1-1), which came in averaging 43.3 points and coming off a 62-point performance against Rhode Island, trailed 31-14 before a scoring pass from Anton Clarkson to Charles Sullivan with 4:25 left. Clarkson earlier hit Devale Ellis from 21 yards and scored on a 1-yard run to tie it at 14 before the Dukes scored the next 17 points.

Clarkson was 20-for-31 for 182 yards with one interception.
