DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- Matt Mong scored two touchdowns and Dayton's
offense piled up 500 yards in a 45-27 win over Davidson on
Eleven players rushed the ball and eight caught passes for
Dayton (3-1), which built a 35-20 lead at the half.
Mong scored on runs of 19 and 1 yards. Doug Jones fell on a
fumble in the end zone for a touchdown and Matt Marshall scored on
a 24-yard run, Ryan Wrobleski caught a 44-yard touchdown pass from
Brandon Staley and Steve Verhoff scored on a 1-yard run.
Beaux Jones ran for one score and passed for two for Davidson
(1-3). Jones completed just 10 of 30 passes for 194 yards.
John Leverett led all rushers with 111 yards on 19 carries for
Davidson, which trailed almost 2-to-1 in possession time.
Dayton rushed for 340 yards on 64 attempts and Staley and Kevin
Hoyng combined to complete 11 of 24 passes for 160 yards.
