AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- Brett Biggs rushed for 165 yards and three
touchdowns and Charlie Frye threw for two scores to lead Akron over
Buffalo 44-21 Saturday night.
With Akron (2-4, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) behind 14-7 early
in the second quarter, Domenik Hixon returned a kickoff 93 yards
for a touchdown.
Biggs scored on a 26-yard run on the next possession and Akron
didn't trail again. Biggs reached the end zone again on 1-yard run
for a 28-14 halftime lead and added a 14-yard TD run in the fourth
Frye was 13-for-23 for 202 yards and two touchdowns.
Steven King led Buffalo with 120 yards rushing and scored on a
10-yard run in the first quarter.
The Bulls (1-5, 1-3) pulled within 28-21 on Jared Patterson's
2-yard T-D with 12:40 left in the third quarter. But Frye later led
Akron on a 67-yard drive that ended with a 12-yard TD pass to Jason
Datwan Hemingway was 4-for-10 for 79 yards and a 2-yard TD to
Chad Upshaw. Chris Moore was 7-for-10 for 57 yards.
